I found this 1970's craft book at a thrift shop. It's called Soft Toys and Dolls. There is an idea that I wish I would have thought of when my kids were little. It's such a fun idea.
Basically, you take one of your kid's drawings and make a pillow out of it. What a great gift idea for your little artist.
This butterfly is may favorite. When I saw this, I looked and looked for the pattern, but didn't find one. I guess it would have helped to read the instructions first.
Enlarge the drawings, cut them out of fabric, and stitch them up. In these examples, they did applique and stitching. Glueing on felt for the eyes, and other details would work too. Also, fabric markers may come in handy for this project.
To see the instructions and print them, just click on the image. A new, full sized image will appear. Right click and save image.
Have fun!
